The Nigeria international has had a shocking stint at the King Power Stadium. Since his arrival, Musa has managed just 33 appearances for Leicester City (five goals), of which, only a single appearance has come this season.
Musa arrived in the East Midlands as a hot young striker, having scored 18 goals (and six assists) in 44 appearances for his former side CSKA the previous season. However, his career has since fallen off a cliff, arguably because of Leicester’s own treatment of him.
With the FIFA World Cup 2018 drawing ever closer, former Nigerian footballers have now spoken up, exhorting him to leave the King Power Stadium. Speaking of Ahmed Musa, Justice Christopher said:
“I don’t think he should stay in Leicester if he wants to be part of the trip to Russia; it’s clear he doesn’t have a place there.
“What is happening to him happened to a big player like (Andrei) Schevchenko at Chelsea, it happens to players. But Musa has limited time ahead of the World Cup and needs a quick move to resurrect his career. Nigerians are not happy that he’s not playing. I think he should try his luck elsewhere.”
Victor Ezeji had a similar opinion as he urged Musa to move on as well if he is to board the flight to Russia next year.
“He should get a new club because when a new coach comes in and also sidelines you, it means you have to look elsewhere. No coach will buy you in January and don’t use you.”
Ahmed Musa is destined to leave Leicester City in the January transfer window, but what remains to be seen is what would his next destination be. There have been a few reports suggesting that he could be headed to his old club CSKA Moscow yet again, while some reckon that a reunion with Leonid Slutsky at Hull City could be on the cards.

Aston Villa are also said to be interested in Musa’s services as they look to add more arsenal to the squad.
