An Abuja Federal High Court has dismissed the trial of the Commandant-General of the Peace Corps, Dickson Akoh, till May 8.
The Peace Corps' supervisor is at present confronting a 13-tally charge verging on extortion.
The police had documented a 90-count charge as a detriment to Akoh.
Amid yesterday's session, the Justice John Tsoho-drove court dismissed the case in light of the fact that the indicting counsel, Ahmed Aliko was truant.
Akoh's guidance, John Ochogwu had told the court that he is in receipt of a letter from the Department of State Services (DSS) which asked for a suspension in light of the fact that the indicting counsel "is out of locale."
Ochogwu stated, "We are in receipt of a letter composed by the Office of the Department of State Security dated February 20, 2018. It is as a result an application for dismissal, the reason expressed is that Ahmed Aliko (prosecutor) is out of locale.
"Past Mr. Aliko, they have had various prosecutors and any of them ought to have been in court today to continue."
Following Ochogwu's accommodation, Justice Tsoho deferred the issue till May 8.
