FRANCIS UZOHO 7/10 The young goalkeeper recovered from a poor start to make a couple of vital saves in the game. He grew in confidence as the game wore on and certainly justified his selection ahead of the more experienced Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
SHEHU ABDULLAHI 4/10 The right-back gave away fouls in dangerous positions twice and failed to impress in the game. He did not play up to his usual high standards.
WILLIAM TROOST- EKONG 6/10 The centre-back who captained the team in the absence of Mikel Obi was Nigeria’s best defender in the game. He made several vital clearances and did well to stop Poland hitman and captain Robert Lewandowski from getting a goal in the game.
LEON BALOGUN 4/10 Not one of his best games for the three-time African champions. Balogun was caught out of position a few times and looked a bit rusty.
BRYAN IDOWU 5/10 He was picked ahead of the more experienced Elderson Echiejile but failed to justify his inclusion in the starting line-up. The Amkar Perm of Russia left-back did not defend well and failed to support the attack.
WILFRED NDIDI 5/10 The Leicester City midfielder put up an average showing in the game. He was however Nigeria’s busiest midfielder in the encounter.
JOEL OBI 5/10 He was eager to make an impression on the technical crew and was all over the pitch in the game. Lucky to escape without injury despite a few rough tackles from the Poles. He did not do his World Cup chances any harm.
KELECHI IHEANACHO 4/10 A below-par showing from the Leicester City man who failed to thrive in an advanced midfield position in the absence of captain Mikel Obi.
ALEX IWOBI 5/10 Started the game brightly but fizzled out and was duly substituted early in the second half by Ahmed Musa.
VICTOR MOSES 7/10 Was lively after the break following an average showing in the first half. He won and converted the penalty for the only goal of the game.
ODION IGHALO 4/10 The China- based striker was not at his best, he failed to give the Polish defence any problems and posed no threat. He was duly subbed off for Moses Simon late in the game.
SUBSTITUTES AHMED MUSA 4/10 Took the place of Alex Iwobi but did little or nothing to make any positive impact in the game.
OGENYI ONAZI 4/10 He was supposed to help stabilise the midfield after coming on for Joel Obi, but he did not post his usual energetic display.
KENNETH OMERUO 3/10 Did little to help his cause following an error-strewn performance after his introduction in the second half.
TYRONNE EBUEHI 5/10 Proved a capable replacement for Shehu Abdullahi as he prevented the hosts from finding the equalising goal.
JOHN OGU 4/10 Did enough to help the Super Eagles protect their lead after replacing Kelechi Iheanacho. MOSES SIMON Not rated.
